Havana is undoubtedly one of the best preserved colonial cities in the Caribbean and is certainly the
cultural capital of Cuba. With its rich traditions of music and the arts as well as its stunning
architectural beauty, Havana will entrance visitors. Much of ”Old Havana” can be explored on foot and has
the feel of a well preserved 19th Century Spanish or an Italian City without the commercial elements.
Much of the Old City is presently being reconstructed and preserved by UNESCO which has designated it as a
World Heritage site. Cubans are warm and very welcoming despite the hardship of day to day life. The city
is exceptionally safe by Western standards. Numerous bars and restaurants line Old Havana and make it a
perfect place for exploration.
