After more than 100 years, sternwheeler cruising returns to Alaska’s Inside Passage. Our new,
elegant sternwheeler cruise ship Empress of the North will cruise into history in Alaska each year
starting in June 2003. These new and totally unique cruises will operate between Seattle and Juneau,
Alaska either northbound or southbound through the famed Inside Passage. The Empress of the North will
reposition to Portland, Oregon to join our sternwheeler Queen of the West from September to May each
year for cruises on the Columbia, Snake, and Willamette rivers along the Lewis & Clark route, Oregon
Trail and Columbia River Gorge. All of our cruise itineraries feature elegant, casual cruising on an
authentic sternwheel-driven cruise ship with included shore excursions, fine dining and live
entertainment in two showrooms.
